  • The cause of many bulges is not being overweight but a consequence of poor posture exaggerating unwanted curves.
  • Postural bulges are hard to shift with diet or exercise unless the exercises are specifically targeted to correct posture.
  • With postural correction exercises, waist and buttock measurements can decrease even without weight loss!
When starting on a weight loss programme, whether by diet, exercise or both you should first correct any postural abnormalities.
Only if posture is first perfected, will weight loss produce the desired effect.

Stretching is beneficial because it:

  • Prevents muscle tightness
  • Takes pressure off joints, ligaments, nerves and other muscles
  • Corrects posture
  • Improves circulation
  • Relieves cramping
  • Helps you sleep better
  • Is a form of relaxation

STRETCHING IS UNDERRATED AS A FORM OF EXERCISE YET IT GIVES THE GREATEST GAINS AND RELIEF.

The classes take just one hour and are very low impact. The improvements felt after just a few sesssions are very obvious resulting in much better posture, more freedom of movement and lessening of pain.

  • Pilates based
  • Educate on how and why we stretch, what muscles are being stretched, where they are, how the muscles work and their affect on the body – emphasis on technique
  • Core stabilization – emphasis on technique
  • Focus on strengthening different parts e.g. Upper body, neck and shoulders, lower body, knees, hips, abdominals.
  • Posture correction – stretching and strengthening
5 WEEK ROTATION:
Week 1 – Posture
Week 2 – Stretching
Week 3 – Upper limb
Week 4 – Lower limb
Week 5 - Abdominals

Patients are encouraged to learn and practise the stretches at home
